The EBBS Mid-career Award recognises a researcher whose work falls within the areas covered by the Society, who is currently active in research, and who has a distinguished research record over a substantial period (10-20 years post award of their Ph.D., with adjustment for career breaks). Individuals can nominate themselves or be nominated by a current member of EBBS. Nominees must have a Ph.D. (or M.D.) and must be a fully paid-up member of EBBS by the time the nomination is submitted.

Nomination materials should include:

(1) Nomination letter addressing each of the following five scoring items:

• Research Output
• Research Funding
• Leadership Roles
• Mentorship Qualities
• Promoting Inclusivity

(2) Nominee’s curriculum vitae.

Winners of the EBBS Mid-Career Award are expected to give a talk in person at the next EBBS meeting (every other year in odd-numbered years). The Society actively encourages nominations of individuals from traditionally underrepresented groups.

The purpose of the EBBS Diversity Award is to recognise a researcher whose work falls within the areas covered by the society and who has made a significant contribution to promoting and/or supporting diversity within the field.

The committee will consider a number of factors in making the award, such as:

• Initiatives to promote diversity in the field of behavioural neuroscience
• Contribution to promoting gender equality in the field
• Mentoring young students from diverse backgrounds

Individuals can nominate themselves, or be nominated by a current member of the Society.  In addition, the nominated individual should themselves be a fully paid-up member of the Society at the time the application is submitted.

Nominations should include:

• No more than 2 pages of A4 outlining five major contributions to promoting and/or supporting diversity in the field of behavioural neuroscience
• No more than 2 pages of testimonials from individuals commenting on the contribution the member has made to the issue of diversity

Winners of the award will be notified directly by the Society and will be expected to accept the award and present a talk in person at the next Society’s meeting (every other year in odd-numbered years).
